About Aboudia
Abdoulaye Diarrassouba, known as Aboudia, is a distinguished contemporary artist based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. Born on October 21, 1983, in Abidjan, Aboudia has gained acclaim for his dynamic and expressive paintings that seamlessly fuse street art aesthetics with traditional African

influences. His journey from a poor kid on the street to becoming one of today's top global artists is remarkable. In 2021, Pepsi has featured Aboudia in an ad campaign to promote Pepsi across Africa.
Aboudia's artworks capture the vibrancy and complexity of urban life in Abidjan through large-scale canvases characterized by bold colors, frenetic lines, and densely packed figures with exaggerated features. His internationally exhibited works are celebrated for their unique blend of abstraction, figurative art, and social commentary. He is currently among the most sought-after artists in contemporary African art sales. In 2022, Untitled (2018), sold at Christie’s in London for £504,000, setting a new auction record for the artist.
Aboudia has also received the top cultural prize in Ivory Coast for his philanthropic efforts. He currently leads the Foundation Aboudia, which supports education for underprivileged children. His dedication to social good through art underscores his influence and commitment to making a positive impact on his community and beyond.
